Click to hear the full album. TranceForm had a brief but marvelous existence in the early 1980s. We sat at the intersection of prog rock and folk music and made a record that stands up well. The band:
George Tortorelli (bass, guitar, flutes, recorders, mandolin, percussion, lead vocals). George went on to bigger and better things with his own music and Lisa Lynne, on WIndham Hill and other labels.
Ric Kaestner (guitar, mandolin, lead vocals). Ric released a solo album, Music for Massage, on Narada Records and appears on Mixing Metaphors.
David Smadbeck (keyboards supremo!). David is a marvelous, classically trained composer and keyboardist, perhaps most prominently a member of the jazz fusionist band Mindwalk.
Bob McPeek (lots of guitars, bass, vocals). Enough about him already.
Ralph Gray (drums and percussion). Ralph lives in Orlando and currently pounds the skins for Jupiter Groove. He plays drums on the first track (The Perfect Chord) on Mixing Metaphors.
This was released on the short lived Hyde and Zeke label, recorded and engineered by Paul Pavelka and Bob McPeek, produced by the band.
